Welcome to my blog!

I have a passion for fashion but I wouldn’t consider myself a “fashionista.” Dressing head to toe in Chanel, Galliano, or Stella McCartney would be my idea of a perfect world but realistically, I can’t afford it nor do I live the lifestyle! I am an ordinary girl living an ordinary life but I like to “look good." For the last 15 years, I have found a way to keep up with current fashion trends without owning a black, Titanium American Express card. It’s simple, I shop at thrift stores and discount racks. Shopping at thrift stores is eco-friendly and is a sure place to find that unique piece no one else has. I cannot count the number of times I have drooled over a pair of boots or jeans I saw in a fashion magazine and later find at a discount rack or thrift store. Who cares if its the real thing! Looking good on a dime isn’t difficult, it's easy. All it takes is having a little patience and time. I love to share, so consider me your personal stylist. Please check back daily for affordable fashion finds and tips.

Tips for Saving Money Using "Coupon Codes"... It Really Works!!!

For the last few years I have shopped online for most of my closet finds.  I have just recently come across a few websites where I have saved money using discount coupon codes and I want to pass it along to you.  It really works... I just bought a pair of booties on sale with an additional 15% off and only paid $1 for shipping!

Here are the steps to follow to save money online:

1.  Sign-up to be on a stores mailing list, especially the big retail stores.  They will email you their current promotions and periodically send % off coupons.
2.  Save $ using coupon codes. Go to http://www.couponcabin.com/, type in the name of the store of your choice.  You will then see if that store has any coupon code savings available.  Next step is to save the code (write it down or copy/paste).   When you are ready to make a purchase at the store you have selected the coupon code, type in or copy/paste the code at check-out... instantly you will see the savings. *Sometimes a store will not have a coupon code available but don't fret, keep checking back daily.
3.  Keep a list of your favorite stores saved in your "favorites."  This helps save time when searching for discounts.

My Favorite Picks

Luxgoddess.com-  Love this store!  They seek out huge savings on designer brands from fashionable online stores... up to 75% off the original price. They have a direct link to couponcabin.com on their site.

Overstock.com-  They are always offering coupons and % off.  This November 27, 2009, they are offering a "Black Friday" 60% sale.  Check out http://www.couponcabin.com/ for coupon codes.

http://www.shoes.com/
Shoes.com-  They offer a wide variety of designer shoes.  I have seen coupon codes for them at http://www.couponcabin.com/. Shipping is FREE.

ShoeMall.com-  Great everyday low prices and FREE shipping. Check out http://www.couponcabin.com/ for coupon codes.

Endless.com-  Offers low prices on designer shoes and handbags.  FREE overnight shipping and hassle free returns... I know because I had to return a pair of their shoes and it was supper easy.  Check out http://www.couponcabin.com/ for coupon codes.

Finding Your Own Personal Style and Look FABULOUS!

You like what you like. Don't be afraid to shine!  "Own" your look so it doesn't look borrowed.  Having confidence in what you are wearing is key. Most of us ladies like to buy what we see everyone else wearing... mistake, mistake, mistake!  Don't get caught up in buying trends that you don't feel confidant in.  If you doubt go without.  Just because something is "the look of the moment," doesn't mean it will look fabulous on you.  Take "leggings" for instance, yes they are a super hot trend of the moment but can you pull it off and look good wearing them?  The answer is simple... if you love leggings then yes and if you kinda love them then NO!  Finding your own personal style isn't difficult, it all comes down to wearing what you love and not being afraid of what others might think... "own it" and you will always look fabulous!

The 2 BEST Perfumes Ever Created!

I cannot begin to tell you how many times a "second" I get stopped when I wear these two fabulous perfumes.  "Angel" by Thierry Mugler and "Pink Sugar" by Aguolina are the two best fragrances ever created... and did I say affordable and Eco-friendly!  Not only are these scents man magnets, they are magnets to everything that breathes, seriously... but I promise not bug magnets!  Both scents have been around for a while and I am surprised that I haven't smelled more of you ladies wearing them.

Pink Sugar by Aquolina

I am amazed that Pink Sugar is so affordable because it definitely does not smell cheap.  This fragrance is fun and playful with notes of vanilla and caramel. Most every time I walk by someone, I hear "I love how you smell," or "You smell so good... what are you wearing?" I even get adorable comments from children telling me that I smell so good that they want to eat me... while they are practically sniffing my arm off, LOL!  Pink Sugar can be found at Nordstroms and Sephora.  Prices range from $28-$55 depending on size and product.

Angel by Thierry Mugler

This scent has a very intense richness to it when you first put it on but don't be intimidated by it's sexiness.  Soon after application you become mesmerized by its warm notes of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, honey, sandalwood, and patchouli.  I wouldn't say that "Angel" is real affordable but it is definitely Eco-friendly because you can recycle the bottle and refill it over and over again.  Purchase the "refillable" Eau de Parfume  so when you are at your last drop, you can take it to your local Nordsrtom fine fragrance counter and they will refill it for the refill price.  Expect to pay more at department stores but I found it at http://www.perfume.com/ where it is MUCH more affordable.
Nordstrom-  1.7 oz "refillable" spray is $110
www.perfume.com-  1.7 oz "refillable" spray is $65.99!!!

My Top 5 Favorite Vintage Websites

My absolute very favorite for sure!  Maybe it's because it's MY website :o)  Vintage Frosting offers designer and non-designer pieces from head to toe.  Only a quarter of my inventory is listed so stay tuned.
Price range:  $$$

Posh Girl Vintage has some of the best high end vintage clothing on the web. I wouldn't say Posh Girl Vintage is my definition of "recyclable trends" but its a great place to see whats "vintage hot" so you can look for similar pieces somewhere else for cheaper... this is why I recommend this site.
Price range:  $$$$$

Everything I said about Posh Girl Vintage I would have to "ditto" about Posh Vintage.  This website store is out of Miami Beach Florida. For those who don't know, Miami is one of the best places on earth to find ultra hip vintage pieces... hint, hint, the wealthy retire there.
Price range:  $$$$$

This place is a vintage junkies DREAM!  Scroll through hundreds of vintage vendors showcasing collectibles to jewelry and accessories.  I can spend hours browsing through their website.  Most of the vendors I have come across are very friendly and are open to wheeling and dealing with you.
Price range:  $ to $$$$

This website is kind of like eBay but way better.  I have never run into issues with sellers on this site like I have in the past with eBay.  In my opinion eBay is yuk!  Etsy is a safe and fun place to shop.  If you are interested in vintage, go to their search box and scroll down to "vintage"... this will direct you to all of the vintage goodies they have for sale.
Price range:  $ to $$$$

*Price range scale is $ for lowest and $$$$$ for highest dollar expected to pay.

My Favorite Thrift Store!

I can spend hours at the Goodwill.  I go atleast 2 days a week and every time I find something I have to have for just dollars.  I often donate my "last season" must haves so someone else can have the pleasure of owning them... I love how this type of recycle process works.  Whats great about the Goodwill is that 84 percent of their total revenues are used to help fund job training that help people become sucessful in the work place and is also used to fund their education services.  Check out their website at http://www.goodwill.org/ and read their "sucess stories."
